We all want to find love, but how badly?
Unpredictable, dark and funny, The Blind Date Project is a real event everyone can relate to: a blind date between two people who have never actually met and who are desperately in need of connection.
Anna (Bojana Novakovic) sits alone in a half empty Karaoke bar, waiting for a date she was matched up with on-line. This person is a different performer each night whose identity is unknown to her until the moment of performance. What follows is a fully improvised, intensely personal interaction between them, including random Karaoke numbers.
Direction is interactive, sent to the performers via SMS and phone calls. No two shows are ever the same. The date might work or it may fail tremendously. It might lead to love or lust or devastation. However it is, we can relate. A lot of us have been there. This cuts close to the bone.
Blind Date celebrates the unattractive and embarrassing aspects of being desperately in need. It explores the most humiliating impulses in us all: seeking approval, seeking love, saying too much and struggling to impress.
With our trial season in Melbourne having yielded much mirth, we will be appearing at the Powerhouse in Brisbane from 22nd – 26th of May 2012.
