The Australian
A sensual theatrical experience… Novakovic is a real talent. So is Rogers. The Age.
Some bits spoken, some bits sung.
Some bits true, some bits spun…
Promiscuous prophet or philandering fool?
Mary MacLane is a woman you’d be mad not to meet.
After an incredible season in Melbourne, the production comes to Sydney from April 4 till May 12 at the Griffin Theatre BOOK TICKETS HERE!
A self-proclaimed genius and recluse whose immodesty knows no bounds, Mary MacLane sits on stage, breaks open her heart, and feeds it to the audience piece by piece. Over a hundred years ago when she was nineteen, and refused to succumb to the corset-bound prudery of her age, her first book- a shocking confessional- sold over 100,000 copies. Then she grew up. Today, Ride On Theatre bring Mary’s writings to the stage in a bold and magical ‘monologue for two.’ Backed with original tunes by Tim Rogers (You Am I), Mary’s world is vivid and bizzare, drawing a thrilling connection between the experience of a 100 years past and today.
